Welcome to Heritage Hillside – Your Mountain Farm Cottage Getaway
Set on more than 2 acres of North Carolina hillside, this cozy mountain farm cottage offers the perfect mix of rustic charm and homey comfort. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by sweeping views of the property and the historic tobacco barn that sits just before the driveway—a true nod to the area’s heritage.
Inside, the cottage features 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, making it an ideal retreat for couples, small families, or friends traveling together. The primary bedroom offers a king bed, while the second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, both designed with comfort in mind so you can rest easy after your mountain adventures.
At the heart of the home, you’ll find a spacious eat-in kitchen—perfect for preparing hearty breakfasts before a day of hiking or relaxed dinners at home. Included in the kitchen is also a Keurig coffee machine with coffee pods and sweeteners in the cupboard above.
Just off the kitchen, the living room invites you to unwind with a cozy fireplace, comfortable seating, and a flat-screen TV for movie nights.
The cottage also offers thoughtful touches for both convenience and comfort: a washer and dryer, a dedicated desk for remote work, and an enclosed back porch. Out front, the porch invites you to slow down, listen to the quiet, and soak in the mountain air. If you are a smoker, please enjoy that out on the front porch.
One of the most unique features of Heritage Hillside is its natural spring water. Flowing straight from the hillside, the water is carefully filtered through several sediment filters and a UV filter before it reaches the taps, providing fresh, clean water throughout the home. For added peace of mind, a Brita pitcher is also provided for guest use.
The property includes a mechanic’s shed at the top of the driveway and a stable barn off to the left, further adding to its authentic, working-farm atmosphere. While the cottage is styled with rustic simplicity, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay—warm, welcoming, and full of character. We have the fastest internet in the area - providing Starlink satellite internet.
Whether you’re here to explore the beauty of the Smoky Mountains or simply relax in a quiet setting, Heritage Hillside offers a true slice of country life with the comforts of home.
Everything is available with the exception of a locked cabinet on the back enclosed porch.
We are available through the app or by cell phone at any time!
This is a small mountain side farm, but without any animals other than the occasional neighbor dog wondering around.
Don't be alarmed by the neighbor's equipment, he is a hard-working man with a logging business.
Our 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath mountain cottage on a dead-end road is often quite peaceful. Close to town, 10 min to the Cherohola Skyway and 20 min to the Tail of the Dragon - you will be staying on our mini farm (minus the farm animals). The view from the cottage is looking down the hill at the old tobacco barn and a 4-stall stable barn. The driveway can feel steep, but anyone can make it to the top (except for motorcycles- those can be parked down in the tobacco barn).

Super clean, peaceful, quiet place! The decor was very fitting! Girlfriend loved using the towel warmer! 10/10 would recommend.
It was very cute, loved the decor and the King bed was very comfortable. Large TV and comfy couch. Close to town, Ingles grocery, Mexican restaurant, McDonald’s, Wendy’s and a few local diners/restaurant. 3 waterfalls right off the road toward Franklin, NC . Joyce Kilmer Forest not far with very large trees. Beautiful, scenic area.
I really enjoyed my stay here.
